Nigel Godrich's "From the Basement" Series to air on IFC

The wonderful "From the Basement" series first caught my eye when the special In Rainbows episode aired on a channel simply called "music: high definition." Apparently it will now be available, multiple episodes, for anyone who is paying for cable on IFC's new lineup. The series which has featured Radiohead, Sonic Youth, The Shins, PJ Harvey, The White Stripes, Jarvis Cocker, Jose Gonzelez, Eels & More (dang!) will debut September 30th as part of a new lineup "geared towards males," (I'm not really making the connection between music being something exclusively for males, but I digress.

Jack White sums up the From The Basement M.O pretty nicely when he says, "I don't think a music program has recorded a performance on analog reel to reel in thirty years. It was beautifully filmed, and the sound quality makes a performance on a regular TV talk show sound like a wax cylinder recording. No host. Thank God"

Sounds like a treat, right? Find out more info here.
