I grew up a massive sports fan. I played three sports, watched more than that, and planned fully on playing basketball for the rest of my life. This began to fade around high school, but I certainly still watch a fair amount of football, baseball, and basketball. I was sitting here watching ESPN and wondering....what the heck happened to my beloved games? Referees betting on the games they're calling, cornerbacks inciting near life-ending strip club brawls, star quarterback's running dog fighting rings, and home-run record holders shooting up.
There was a time when you watched sports center to see highlights of the games you couldn't catch, or see in your market, not wait for the verdict in your favorite athlete's trial. Perhaps the modern day prophet B.I.G. said it best - "mo money, mo problems."

Oh, my mistake. I thought this was Hard to Find a Friend. I must've typed in Lou Dobbs by mistake.
What? No "Sporting life" by the Decemberists? Haha, just kidding. (though, I will not deny, I particularly enjoy that song, and most of what the Decemberists write)
The Penalty is a great song, I missed seeing Beirut about a month ago. Tickets sold out before I could purchase one.
